Poggio Diana:

poggio diana Commissioned by the company of the Terme, the complex was built between 1928 and 1929, designed by architect Mario Bacciocchi and intended as a place of recreation for the spa clientele. For the great summer meeting the designer could create a hymn to the ephemeral, using a fun and daring blend of styles and references: he gave birth to a harmonious blend of rural architecture of Nordic derivation (wooden chalets), a rich baroque decoration and neoclassicism.

Located in the hills to the need for open spaces, building included a tavern and restaurant, terraces, shooting fields, an outdoor theater for 3000 people, a swimming pool, a monumental illuminated fountain, tennis courts and bowls: all in one fanciful garden.
Even Galileo Chini was involved in the project and asked to design the decoration of the halls of the palazzina.
Poggio Diana has been remodeled since the 60s: the terraces turned into confined spaces, the landscape architecture changed, the open-air theater used for parking.
