Congress Centre:

congress centre The building, designed in 1898 by the Milanese architect Luigi Broggi and built in just three years, was inaugurated in 1901.
Equipped with all the "modernity" found in the most luxurious hotels in Europe of the time, the hotel was outsourced to Caesar Ritz, who bought it in 1910 with the Baron Pfyffer.
For decorations were called two well-known artist from Milan, who enriched the hotel with the elegant and refined style that was Liberty: by Alessandro Mazzucotelli are the "shelter" and "railing" work instead of Gotthard Valentini are the painted decorations, internal and external.
After the Great War, the hotel was sold to Société Anonyme Salsomaggiore Grand Hotels, which also owns the "Centrale Bagni" and the Grand Hotel et de Milan.

After World War II the hotel passed to Earl Leoni who gave the complex a swimming pool, designed by Vittoriano Vigano.
The building was bought in 1965 by the City of Salsomaggiore who made there the Congress Centre, adding in the '90s the modern Sala Europa.
Recently, the complex has undergone major renovation of the exterior and some interior.
